Whether you need to complete community service hours for school or are simply looking to give back to the community, Baldwin has many volunteer opportunities. Please see below for volunteer applications. Contact the library at 248-647-7339 if you have any questions.
Teen and Adult Volunteer Program
(Ages 15 and up)
Teen and Adult volunteers are always welcome to help shelve materials, mend damaged items, process new and withdrawn books, and assist with special projects.
Friends of the Baldwin Public Library
The Friends of the Baldwin Public Library is a separate organization that supports the library's goals, services, and programming. Volunteers are needed to assist with sorting materials, and to help set up and run the used book sales held each November and May. Please contact Deb if you are interested in helping out with a book sale.
2017 Birmingham/Bloomfield Cultural Arts Award
Know a friend, colleague or neighbor who deserves recognition for their impact on the arts in the community? Nominate them for the 2017 Birmingham/Bloomfield Cultural Arts Award. Jointly sponsored by The Community House, the Observer and Eccentric Newspapers, the Birmingham Bloomfield Art Center and the Cultural Council of Birmingham/Bloomfield, this year represents the 22nd year the award has been granted. Past honorees have included musicians, philanthropists, writers, thespians, sculptors, teachers, photographers, and volunteers including luminaries such as writer Elmore Leonard, philanthropist Maggie Allesee, and volunteers such as Judith Adelman.
A jury of arts enthusiasts from the community will select the winner on the basis of the nominations. Link Wachler will again create the award which will be presented to the honoree at a public reception on Friday, Oct. 6 at the Birmingham Bloomfield Art Center.
Questions and/or completed nominations may be submitted online by July 15 to Marcy Heller Fisher at firstname.lastname@example.org or faxed to (866) 403-6794.
